The 10 Minute List Building Cheat

WARNING LONG POST, GET A COFFEE AND A PIECE OF CAKE AND GET STUCK IN.

I know when I was just starting out, with little knowledge, or confidence in my ability to build a list, I really wanted a simple proven income creation method that I could get some very quick results.

This would then prove to me that this whole making money online thing would work and therefore give me the assurance that spending more time putting together something a little more in depth was worth it.

Therefore this little gem of a method that I’m going to share with you would have been right up my street.

It needs the minimum of set up, no creation of products to sell or giveaway, the very minimum of technical knowledge and the smallest of one off investments in a clever piece of software.

I’ll start by saying that I am assuming we all understand the importance of building a list, and so I’m not going repeat all of that – suffice to say it IS VERY IMPORTANT! However the trick is to earn while you are building the list, so that you can at least subsidise the investments associated with having your own online business.

This method achieves that beautifully.

OK so let’s jump into it.

What we are going to do is create a sales funnel, but this is a little special in that you are going to let other people do most of the work.

For this to work you are going to need:

Webhosting
An autoresponder

I’m sure you have both of the above, but if not, the suppliers I use and recommend are:
GetResponse – Click HERE to get a special introductory offer

JustHost – Click HERE to get hosting (plus free domain and unlimited bandwidth)

You will also need an inexpensive piece of software that will build your funnel. This is not essential, but does greatly reduce the time and effort required for this method.  We will go into this software a lot more later, but in the meantime you can click HERE to get hold of it.

The ‘10 Minute List Building Cheat’ Strategy

Step 1:

Find yourself an affiliate product that you are happy to promote (niche doesn’t matter). This is how we will be monitising our funnel and so is very important.

My suggestions are searching on Clickbank, JVZoo or Warriorplus.

The criteria you should be using when looking for the offer(s) are as follows:

Relatively Low Cost

You have currently got no reputation with the potential buyer and therefore they are less likely to want to risk investing too much purchasing the offers you put in front of them. Therefore I would suggest looking for offers not in excess of $17.

A Good EPC (Earnings Per Click)

When I am searching for products, I would like to see an EPC (Earnings Per Click) of $1.00+.

This tells me that for every person that a marketer sends to the offer, they earn on average $1.00. So I know that if I send 100 clicks I should roughly expect to see around $100 in earnings.

Obviously these are averages and can be affected by a lot of factors, but the raw stats can help you distinguish the wheat from the chaff.

Check It Out Yourself

Although not essential, I would also recommend investing in the product yourself.

This way you have peace of mind that you are not pushing any old crap…

…and of course if the material is as good as it no doubt reports to be, your business will benefit from the information/software/service!

The final comment here is that ideally the sales page will contain a video element, as this will really help attract people in the first place (more of that later though).

Fortunately nowadays, most sales pages will contain some video element to their sales pages.

Step 2:

You may be thinking at this point, it’s all well and good have a decent affiliate product with a good earning potential, but how the hell do I get people to see it?

Well ordinarily at this point you would be told to come up with a product you can give away in exchange for the subscribers email address.

As easy as this can be (if you’ve been doing it for a while it is not that complex), in the early days it can sometimes feel like it would be easier to climb Everest in your Y Fronts.

Therefore this is where the magical little bit of software I mentioned earlier comes into its own.

Super Promo Pages gets around this by building a landing/squeeze page based around the affiliate product you have chosen to promote.

SUPERPROMOPAGE

It will show part of the video from the sales page, and then after a pre-set time, will request the viewer to provide their email to see the remainder of the video.

SUPERPROMOPAGE2

So not only are you going to send the person to the affiliate offer, you are also going to get the details to your list…

…without the need to create a freebie to giveaway.

Obviously you need the software to do this, but at the time of writing it is being offered on an introductory offer of a one off investment of less than £10 (or $15). He does plan to change this to a membership fee at some point, but currently it is only going to cost you the same as a decent pizza.

For a little background for a moment, the creator of this software is someone I know and is annoying brilliant at coming up with stuff that is really helpful for marketers new and old.

Even the sales page for Super Promo Pages has a video explaining exactly how the software works, and what the end results look like.

Click HERE to check out the video and an over the shoulder demonstration of what it can do

In fact it strikes me that what Andy gives away in the video is a lot more useful than some products I’ve purchased recently!!

Anyway back to it. To set up you page you are going to need the following:

A good headline and a sub headline.

A great little free online resource to help you come up with great headlines is http://www.portent.com/tools/title-maker

Obviously a good headline and sub heading is what you are going to use to grab the attention of potential subscribers and therefore is worth spending some time on.

Video from the sales page

This can be done simply and easily using a number of free websites that do this sort of thing.

Having ‘grabbed’ the video, use a video editor to snip off the first 30-60 seconds or so. Most PCs have a video editor loaded as standard, but if not there are many free ones you can download off the web.

You should edit the video so that you have just enough to create an interest and make the viewer wanting to know more.

The affiliate link to the product you are promoting

You will also need your affiliate link of the product you are promoting, so you will need to get approval if it is on the JVZoo or WarriorPlus marketplace.

Your Autoresponder opt-in form code

Having created the opt-in form in your autoresponder, copy the code ready to paste into the Super Promo Page software.

getresponseIf this is something you have never done before, don’t worry it is one of the main aspects of an autoresponder. This means that every autoresponder worth its salt will have oodles of help to create the code.

Put It ALL Together

Now you have all the elements, you just need to go follow the step within the software to set up your new simple funnel and paste in the required information your have collected when you are requested for it.

Literally a 10 minute job (even if you are the slowest typist since my dad…who I should stress is painfully slow and thinks computers are the work of Beelzebub!!).

Once the data has been entered, the software will put it all together to create the mini funnel.

At this point you can have the software upload your landing page directly to your webhosting. In other words preventing the need to worry about using a separate FTP tool to upload the material.

Alternatively the created landing page can be saved to your PC, to be uploaded at a later time/date.

Arguably you could stop at this point, as you have everything you need to start attracting subscribers creating an income.

However I would not be doing my job correctly if I didn’t highly recommend you including a third step

Step 3:

I highly recommend that you write a series of follow up mails.

I personally would write least 5 follow up mails (and probably a few more) to go into your autoresponder and be sent to subscribers straight after they sign up.

People sometimes need some sort of familiarity to feel comfortable enough to buy from you (I know it’s not your product, but as the person offering it, they are in effect buying from you).

With this in mind I suggest you do here is not to try too hard to sell. Try to introduce yourself and at the same time come up with stories that relate to your main affiliate offer.

For example, if I was promoting some PLR, I might tell people how I do like an easy life and therefore PLR is a great way to short cut the requirement for material of your own.

You can either promote a number of different affiliate offers, but I would suggest use the 5 mails to link back to the original affiliate offer when they signed up.

It has been shown that very often people will need to see an offer a number of times before they actually take the plunge and invest.

Therefore what you are trying to do with the mails is build their trust whilst given them the opportunity to convince themselves that it would be a good idea to follow your advice and get whatever it is you are promoting.

Once you have written all your mails, set them up in your autoresponder to go out over the 5 days following the time they sign up.

If writing mails is just not your thing, then obviously you have my AutoResponder Mail Genie membership to consider if you would like someone else to do the writing for you.  You can check out this service by clicking HERE.

So In summary what you are going to do is:
1. Find a good affiliate offer, of relatively low cost (sub $17) and high EPC ($1.00+) and has a sales page featuring a video.
2. Request approval to promote the affiliate product (if required)
3. Create a Headline/Sub-headline to promote the offer (using http://www.portent.com/tools/title-maker if required.)
4. Create the autoresponder opt-in code
5. Grab the video from the sales page
6. Using Super Promo Page, follow the steps, using the information collected above to create your landing page.
7. Upload the material to your webhosting. This can be done directly via the Super Promo Page software or via a standard FTP tool (eg Filezilla)
8. OPTIONAL – create a series of follow up mails to be sent to the subscriber after they sign up. Use the mails to let people get to know about you, and at the same time promote the affiliate product.

If you are not comfortable creating your own mails check out my AutoResponder Mail Genie membership. You can let me supply you with mails that build a relationship while subtly selling to you subscribers.

So there you are, there is no excuse, for an investment of less than $20 dollars you could be creating as many of these sales machines as you want.

I don’t think I’d be sticking my head out if I said that if you got hold of Super Promo Page now, you could have something up and running within 60 minutes (including the research).

I appreciate this has been a long post, but hopefully it has been worth it. However before I go, I wanted to make sure you checked out the sales video and picked up the bonus extra strategy that you can use with this software.  View the video by clicking HERE.

I plan to talk about that in more detail at a later date.
