Why Not Jump Right In

For some of us, starting an online business is like jumping into an unheated swimming pool.

You lurk about the edge with hordes of others staring enviously at the guys already in splashing around and having a good time.

divingEvery now and then you dip your toe in, to check it out and then pull it straight back out because the water is bloody COLD!

This makes you think the guys already in the pool must be somehow made of better stuff than you.

Eventually if you don’t find a way of getting AND staying in the water, you eventually just drift away thinking that you didn’t really want to go swimming anyway.

The way I tried to achieve success in the early days was frankly a bit halfhearted.

I created my sales funnel as per the training.

I would then do the equivalent of the toe in the water, by perhaps investing in maybe one 100 click solo ad.

The results tended to be very cold…

…conversion rates of well below the quoted 50%

…OTO sales that were few and far between.

I would then run away to lick my wounds, starting to question the information I had been given rather than look at what I was doing.

After a few months I’d start the process again…

…and achieve similar results.

If you can relate to this, the answer is to go into the process with BELIEF.

IT JUST WORKS (even if it is not yet working for you) and has done for many years for many different people.

Once you realise this point, like me, you will start considering why it isn’t working for YOU.

When the penny dropped for me, I started to dig deeper into why I was having the lack of success.

If my conversions were not good, I’d focus on the squeeze page – start testing the squeeze page
– the background
– the headline
– the amount of text used
– the offer

If the squeeze page conversions are good, but my OTO wasn’t selling well, I’d investigate the offer:
– was the offer closely enough related to the initial free offer
– is the offer too expensive, could you include a downsell

If the OTO was selling, but perhaps not enough to cover the cost of the traffic:
– realise this is a longer term process, once the subscribers are on your list they will be there for a long time if you treat them well.
– make sure you quickly make up the short fall with your follow up mail sequence
– make sure you are communicating on a regular basis offering products and services you know will help

As soon as I realised that consistent focused effort combined with a BELIEF that success can be there for those who put in the consistent focused effort…

…my business drastically changed for the better.

Once I had this clear it opened my mind to investing more in my business in terms of time, effort and money, knowing that I may have to show a little faith and speculate before I accumulated.

Having made this decision, It was not long before I was happily splashing around in the Internet Marketing swimming pool and wondering why it took me so long to commit fully.

If you have been just ‘dipping your toe’ and therefore not getting the success you deserve, why not jump in yourself today, and really commit to your future.  If others have done it, why not you?
